Dr Farooq inaugurates USG facility at Faqir Gujri

Srinagar, June 14 (GNS): Jammu and Kashmir National Conference president Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Friday provided an Ultra Sono Graphy machine worth Rs 18 Lakh to Public Health Center facility at Faqir Gujri, Srinagar.

Party president while inaugurating the facility at the public health center in the Gujjar Hamlet of Faqir Gujjiri said the machine will give impetus to the treatment being provided at hospital, improving how patients are diagnosed and treated.

“It has been a long pending demand of the local population to have an USG at the local PHC that mostly caters to the Gujjar population residing mostly on the hilly tracks and arduous terrain. I am hopeful that the machine will help in the early diagnosis of various ailments. Now it is the duty of the hospital management to upkeep the machine so that locals continue to benefit from it. It is surely a very important addition to the hospital that will benefit scores of families who otherwise had to go to various city hospitals located miles away. The measure will help the poor who find it heavy on their pockets to get the ultra sound done at various private clinics around the main city.”

It is pertinent to mention here that party president had formerly provided an ambulance to PHC Fakir Gujjiri; the health facility had also come up in the area due to the efforts of party president and the Member of Parliament-elect from Srinagar parliament constituency Dr Farooq Abdullah. On the occasion locals demanded for the up gradation of the Local middle School to high school, issuance of an extra vehicle for the health facility and increase in the number of hospital workforce. Party president assured the locals that he will write to state governor about the requirements.

“Once the party is in power, the infrastructure related demands of all such areas as are located on the higher reaches, and far flung areas shall address on priority basis.  The need of the hour calls for greater investment in infrasture, education and health sector in such areas as are rather isolated from the main towns.

Our party has traditionally served the Gujjar community with sincerity and dedication; we will continue to lend all support to the community to help them live a dignified life. We will continue to strive towards the socio-political emancipation of the Gujjar and other tribal communities of the state,” adding, “I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to you for reposing your faith in me in the parliament elections. I will try my level best to rise up to the expectations of people living in this area and elsewhere in the Srinagar-Bugdam parliamentary constituency.”  (GNS)
