UJC chief calls for election boycott

Srinagar, April 9 (GNS): United Jihad Council (UJC) chief Syed Salahuddin has called upon the people of Kashmir to completely boycott the upcoming parliamentary elections.

According to a statement issued to GNS, Syed Salahuddin while addressing a high level meeting of UJC said: “The place where coffins are being carried away on daily basis and the 8 lakh forces are involved in human rights violations, it is incumbent upon the people of Kashmir to completely boycott the so-called elections there.”

He said the participation of Kashmiris in these “so-called” elections is being misused by New Delhi at the international forum.

“Whosoever participates in these elections will play a criminal role,” he said.

During the meeting, rich tributes were paid to senior leader of Jamaat-e-Islami Ghulam Nabi Faridabadi who passed away on Monday.

The UJC prayed for highest status in Jannah for the deceased and forbearance to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss. (GNS)
